Maroni - Most of those who visit Cyprus will never discover Maroni, just seven minutes off the A2, the main road from Larnaca to Limassol and Paphos. The village is situated in a spot where its inhabitants can connect with major centres or remain quietly detached five minutes from the sea! Maroni has a resident population of about four hundred people including around sixty or so expatriates. Maroni enjoys its status as a village; development here is restricted and so there will not be huge complexes built around you. As well as a bank, medical centre and garage services there is a range of typical shops offering quality goods and services within easy reach. Advertisers in the Maroni News give an indication of what is available locally www.maronicyprus.net/localservices. Local taverns and restaurants provide truly great food and wines at prices that will amaze even the most cost conscious gastronomes! |

Cans For Kids is a registered charity, formed in 1990 to organise the collection and recycling of aluminium cans in Cyprus. To encourage people to save their cans, it was decided to use the proceeds to purchase medical equipment for the children's wards at Cypriot hospitals. Since its inception, more than 16 million cans have been collected, and over £125,000 worth of equipment has been donated to the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, which is the central paediatric hospital in Cyprus, treating seriously ill children from all over the island. |

Cyprus - Island of 'Venus', the Goddess of Beauty and Love is situated at the eastern end of the Mediterranean, at the crossroads of three continents. The island enjoys long dry summers and mild winters while the sun shines for approximately 340 days a year. Superb mountain scenery, fascinating coastlines, sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, blue skies, green valleys as well as places of great historical and archaeological importance with 9000 years of civilization make Cyprus unique. The combination of high quality of life, low cost of living, hospitable people and an excellent infrastructure which includes best quality hotels, airports and sea ports including a good network of roads and new motorways, high standard of medical care, low crime rate with the low population make Cyprus a very attractive destination, an ideal place for holidays, retirement or permanent living. |
